accuracy.
That means if you specify an accuracy of 0.01, a small model should be accurate enough to be read successfully by OSDM, while the size of a large model "scales" the accuracy to values inacceptable by OSDM. When projecting curves onto surfaces, CATIA normally uses this relative accuracy. If the value is too bad for OSDM, it leaves the face untrimmed - or if they are analytical surfaces ignores them. (ref.: Supported IGES entities ) Note: This is matter has to be regarded during the design cycle. |
(*9) | Of course the accuracy of a part to export is depending
on the part itself.
It can be reduced (if no smaller geometry than the new accuracy value is used in the model) but cannot be increased. If you know in advance that a part has to be exchanged with partners using different CAD products, it is highly recommended to agree on a common procedure and accuracy verify the definitions with small test objects before you start modeling. This is the very best way to achieve best possible transfer rates ! |
(*10) | You can influence the accuracy of intersection
curves (of faces) during IGES output in ProE by modifying the parameter:
Iges_out_trim_curve_deviation .
By default this value is set to the parts accuracy. i.e the part accuracy is 0.012 mm you might want to recalculate the intersection of faces during IGES file generation to 0.001 and you can do this by setting Iges_out_trim_curve_deviation to the new value of 0.001. Note: This does not mean
that your whole part will be recalculated in better accuracy !
Nevertheless more accurate intersection curves can essentially increase your transfer success ! This works very similar on OSDM IGES output;
